Great Gingham Neckline Adjustment

Great Gingham Neckline Adjustment
You’ve seen the Gr8 Gingham sweater and you love it (come see the sample in the store if you haven’t already!) – but you’ve also read the reviews and seen the pictures of it on ravelry and know that the pattern’s neckline leaves much to be desired. This will be a one night class where we will discuss the math of how to adjust a bottom up raglan pattern so that the neck sits lower and doesn’t ride up in the front.
Many in this class will want to make the Gr8 Gingham sweater, but this adjustment will work for anyone wanting to knit a bottom-up raglan design (or you don’t even have to have a sweater in mind – it’s a great class if you want to dip your toes into some of the math required to start adjusting any pattern to your specifications!)
You’ll learn:
· So much math! But it will be fun and approachable and helpful!
· How to work German short rows in colorwork
· What to keep in mind as you adjust your patterns to fit you the way you want them to.
Skills Required:
· Basic knitting and crocheting skills
· Basic sweater construction
· Basic concept and execution of short rows
Materials needed:
· A t-shirt/sweater that you like where the neck hits you (we can also measure this in class – but having a garment with you is hugely helpful!)
· Yarn and needles that you plan to make your sweater with so we can do some swatching as needed.
· You do not need to have started your sweater because we are just discussing the math that you will use later on to make the sweater.
Class date & time: Wednesday October 30, 6-8 pm
Homework: Be sure you’ve done a gauge swatch with your intended yarn and pattern. Bring the swatch and your pattern to class!
