Learn to make socks from preconstructed tubes! YOU pick the yarn, our artist cranks the tube, YOU learn how to do an "afterthought" heel, toe and add the ribbing.  

Project Description: Create socks from preconstructed tube.

What You Will Learn: Pick up stitches, bravely cut into knitting to create afterthought heel, kitchener stitch, measure for proper fitting socks, magic loop.

Skills Required:  Previous knitting experience and a good attitude and eagerness to learn.

Materials Needed: 

  • Preferred 32" or 40" needles for making socks (8 stitches per inch fingering weight yarn) OR DPNs.
  • One skein of fingering weight yarn. YARN WILL NEED TO BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE AND LEFT AT THE SHOP FOR CRANKING by TUESDAY OCTOBER 12th. 
  • 20 grams/minis of coordinating yarn for toes, heels, and cuffs.
  • Sharp scissors
  • Darning Needle

Included with Class: Cranking of one skein of yarn.
